Frontline-The Darkside
What I found most interesting about this was Bush's lack of involvement. He has always been painted as a puppet, and this seems to confirm that. Beyond that, I think it also serves to take Bush off the hook somewhat. Yes, he heard what he wanted to hear, but it sounds like Cheney and Rummy were acting as a filter to ensure the information reaching Bush conformed to their goals.
You have to wonder why George Tenet keeps his mouth shut. I have to assume that he continues to have a level of access that benefits his private endevours. I guess it would not really benefit him in any way other than clearing his consious (if he has one). He sold out the integrity of the CIA. A mia culpa now would only serve to cement his name in infamy. I also found that there was a mitigating note in the program. When they talked about Cheney's prior experiences with the CIA, they point to some really huge past failures that he witnessed. It does go a long way to explaining why he did not trust them. Regardless, Cheney is a criminal. His acts have cost the country dearly. |

I refute the conclusions of the propagandists who constructed this piece of liberal trash...Albeit there are accuracies, surely there are many inaccuracies warped by their hate and desire to manipulate the targeted audience.
I speak from pure ignorance and assumption. |
