Steve,My parents looked at quite a few houses in Friendswood. Though my mom wanted to send my sister to Clear Lake High School. I liked Friendswood, but I kind of like having a boat launch right around the corner.

Plus the garage in this thing is a definite improvement over the old house. Even has A.C in the garage!

That's my neck of the woods. Clear Lake anyway, not Taylor Lakes since it's a bit out of my income bracket. From what I've heard and read, Clear Lake HS is the best in the Clear Creek School District so it's one of the best in Houston. It's where my 12 yo son will go to HS.

Good to have you in the neighborhood. We'll have to have a little get together. My 930 is getting close to completion. Maybe a start the engine party.

BTW, anyone up for a USGP get together on Sunday?

Tobra, just went to Pappadueax's the other night. I liked that part of town, good food! Though coming from Louisiana I have had better...

I used to love to eat at Pappadueax's when I had to go to Johnson Space Center. Crawfish ettoufee! We also used to go to Perry's Grill and eat that massive pork chop for lunch.

Good eating in Houston (Clear Lake area, really), but man, the humidity was brutal (and I'm used to humidity here in Alabama).

That Perry's pork chop is incredible. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! To bad it's not Wednesday.

Was in Houston for 15 minutes last night, just after sundown. Had forgotten how humid it gets at that time of day. The AC packs were spitting water until well out of 10000 feet on climbout.

There are a couple of bbq spots that you would not want to go after dark I could tell you about... Best coonass food I ever had was in some total dump in Baton Rouge.

I miss Pappas Bros Steakhouse. And Eatzi's. And Mission Burrito. And Bellaire china/hanoitown. And that Buffalo burger place under the 59/loop intersection.

Is that Texas BBQ (or KC or Carolina)? In town, the chain Goode Co was actually pretty....good. (for brisket). Then I used to eat at a hole in the wall near LB Johnson county hospital (north side of town) chopped brisket sandwiches...lot's of 'em.

Rudy's in New Braunfels was better.
