Need a good sippin scotch for tonights poker game.

What's a good scotch (yet available at most party stores)? Something smooth? I don't want to spend $100 or anything either. What's my huckleberry?

Bourbon is my weapon; Basil Hayden. $50.00 or so per fifth and don't dare mix it with anything but a few pieces of ice.

JW Black label for blended, The Macallan 10 for single malt - both of those should be agreeable for most people if they drink scotch.

Thanks guys, I drink all my liqueur neat so no problem there.

I do have a bad habit though, I always like to have a lime slice available for a lick, no chompin' it or anything...just a lick every now and again. I do this with virtually all liqueurs and I'm sure it's a big no no, but hey whatever

For a boys pokernight I'd suggest a basic malt like Glenfiddich or a Glenlivet, a Glenmorangie if you want something with a little more body. Save the 20 year old stuff for a night on the sofa with your lady.

Smooth, accessible, don't have to think about it too much? I'd say a blended like Pinch.

Go stiff upper lip with a large Cognac and a fat cigar instead. Better poker face.

+1
Port wood finish on Glenmorangie is nice. Black Bush Irish is also nice.

What a great home business idea! Instead of a wine tasting party, a Scotch tasting party! Problem is, after about 3 you'd be too freak'n plowed to care (but your check book would be primed!)

I went with the Glenlivet, mainly because it was the only one mentioned that they had (besdies JW black).

Now tell me how to pronounce it so I don't come off as a bigger tool than I already am

Best resonable price is Jamasons (IMHO) although not available everywhere, Bushmills is a close second Segams seven crowns third.
YMMV
