Then you haven't been watching. Have you seen the Shiia militia's handiwork lately? No? Just read the papers.

Every time you hear of 1 or 10 or 50 Sunnis being lined up and shot, that's al Sadr or one of the other Shiia militia leaders helping Americans kill Sunnis, so they can have the country to themselves. Every time you hear of a barber killed because he was giving western stye haircuts, or a man stoned because he sells ice, those are OUR guys. The ones we are fighting FOR, not against.

The Sunnis blow themselves up. The Shiia just march up with their military or police uniforms and kill with weapons. They both hate us, its just that the Shiia find us useful at the moment.

From Mr. Maliki's trip to Washington, where he condemned Israel and effectively embraced Hamas and Hezbolla:

Yet the anti-American forces pulling on Mr. Maliki are formidable. His political group, the Islamic Dawa Party, relies on support from the organization of the radical Shiite cleric Moktada al-Sadr, who led two rebellions against the Americans in 2004. American and British forces have been cracking down on Mr. Sadr’s militia in recent weeks, and Mr. Sadr called on Mr. Maliki last week to cancel his trip to Washington.

Mr. Sadr controls important ministries and at least 30 seats in Parliament. One word from him can send thousands of armed men into the streets. Because of that, and because of Mr. Maliki’s close ties to Sadr politicians, he could ask President Bush to roll back the American military’s recent offensive against the Sadr militia, Iraqi officials said.

And my message today to those in Iraq is: We’ll stay the course. [4/13/04]
And that’s why we’re going to stay the course in Iraq. [4/16/04]
And so we’ve got tough action in Iraq. But we will stay the course. [4/5/04]

Well, hey, listen, we’ve never been “stay the course” [10/21/06]

So now we are back to al Sadr again (must restrain myself....must not say it...). The militias operating in Iraq are NOT equal to the official Iraqi government. They have sprung up to fill the power vacuum in Iraq. Hopefully, as the elected Iraqi government gains control, the militias will come under control. There is more to Iraq than al Sadr. You really seem obsessed with this guy.

There are clerics out there controlling militias, that's true. That doesn't mean it will always be that way. The Iraqi government is trying to quell the insurgency and control the militias. Once the Iraqi people gain trust in their elected government, the militias will begin to dissolve.

No one is saying this is easy or straightforward. Getting through world changing events never is.

I told U all a while back that the Kurds are going to be the ones who run the place.

What a world we live in..

The Democrats who are out of political power would start their own house on fire to get back in power.

The current administration along with the bureaucracy has presided over one cluster fk after another in its attempts to deal with an amorphic war.

The Shia and the Sunni Sects are playing power politics in Iraq, and are settling age long grudges. .and may soon devolve into Civil War.

The Iranian Shia have emerged as a power player in the region and are fking with everybodys head. Which puts the Sunnis Regimes in Saudi, Jordan, Egypt off their lunch. and may well result in a Clash of Civilization...eg Muslim against Muslim

The European Westrern Alliance couldn't raise a hand to save itself.

America may very well be headed towards an isolationist policy, where the outcome is a world that goes to he11.

America may very well be headed towards its own Civil War in which a Dictatorship arises to save the American SUV Standard of Living.

America is fast becoming impotent, where nobody listens to us, because we are a house divided

America is selling itself off to support its SUV standard of living.

Kim Ill Jong feels neglected and is playing with his missles

And Osama Bin laden is sitting in his cave laughing his head off because those planes have done more than just bring those towers down. But may have in fact set the stage for bring down the entire wotld like ahouse of cards.
