After careful consideration......

and much deliberation I have decided to vote Republican this November.

We'll see in '08.

Moneyguy1 09-12-2006 10:36 AM

Repulican?

Moses 09-12-2006 10:39 AM

I'm pretty sure I'm not voting. Maybe never again.

BlueSkyJaunte 09-12-2006 10:40 AM

I'm going to "waste" ( ) my vote again voting for some 3rd party.

So Devos can send more jobs to China?

Are you going to be in business long enough to vote for him a second time?

LOL, he sent not one US job to China. He opened a plant in China to sell product in China as required by their government. If he beats Jenny I will dance in the streets naked with a bullhorn (and perhaps some type of sound amplification device as well).

BlueSkyJaunte 09-12-2006 10:49 AM

Devos, eh? And then he can WHIP IT!!!!

Welcome to the fold! Your membership card will arive shortly. In the meantime, please memorize our song. You will be asked to sing it at the next national convention with 10,000 other converts!

We're all Republicans now,
We've all come around somehow.
Even old Democrats can change their hats,
We're all Republicans now.
Affirmative action must go,
Unless you're somebody we know.
We'll get conservative judges back on the bench,
Cut government spending and down with the French,
No more arguments, we've taken a vow,
No more dissent, just smile and bow.

We're all Republicans,
All Republicans, All Republicans now.

We're all Republicans now,
We've turned to the right, and how!
We are one land,
One old party that's grand,
We're all Republicans now.
We're opposed to the power of the state,
Our motto is deregulate,
No more free health care here in our nation,
Why should I pay for your kid's education?
If you can't afford to pay your own way
Then you don't belong in the U.S.A.

We're all Republicans,
All Republicans, All Republicans now.

We're all Republicans now,
And America's stronger, ka-pow.
If you're unemployed
Don't be annoyed,
We're all Republicans now.
We're all united tonight
'Cause it feels so good to be right.
Put your nose to the grindstone, your hand to the plow,
Get out to the barn and find a cash cow.
When the sign lights up that says, "Applause",
Clap your hands and smile because,
We're all Republicans,
All Republicans, All Republicans now.

A or B?

A: Devos laid off over a thousand Michigan workers, then invested millions in China and provided them with thousands of jobs.

B: Devos invested millions in China providing them with thousands of jobs. He then laid off over a thousand Michigan workers.

Is it the sequence of events which you wish to argue?

Seems silly as the end result is the same.

Seriously, what in there contradicts what the advertisements have been saying?

Both are true. But the products made in China are sold in China (as required by them). This is new business to them not the transfer of jobs. You can certainly comprehend that. Your not claiming the product sold in China was previously made here in Michigan are you?

Every business has to lay off workers from time to time, this should exclude him?

svandamme 09-12-2006 11:27 AM

carefull deliberation?? last time i checked you allready had your mind made up in march 06, and probably a lot earlier

lendaddy 09-12-2006 11:28 AM

So Kach,

I have to ask. Did you really believe that DeVos actually replaced Michigan labor with Chinese labor or were you just being a loyal partisan pushing the propaganda?

At which time you should listen and show some respect:D

But seriously, I wasn't kidding. Did you really believe that DeVos did that? I mean....widget X used to be made in Michigan, but now DeVos is having it made in China. Is that really what you thought or what?

Okay, DeVos......international business man determines he can make more money (ROI) closing the business his daddy built and starting a new business in China.

So why would this give him any ability to solve Michigan's problems?

Yea, he needed the leverage of his Michigan assets to secure financing for his venture in China, once that was done he did a cut and run.

DeVos...........cuts and runs.

Republican alright.

EDIT:
I've read your talking points, don't bother me with them.

???? Closed ???? He didn't close his business here, not even remotely. They are a HUGE employer here. Who told you he closed his business here?

Second, 200 million is nothing to him (alticor as a corporation), he didn't have to leverage jack. Where do you get your info on this? Heck I've never heard such claims before.

scottmandue 09-12-2006 12:38 PM

DEVO's running? He!! yeah they got my vote... so will each guy take turns running the country?

lendaddy 09-12-2006 12:44 PM

So Kach, are you going to answer my question? I am not being a dick, I am genuinely curious. I wonder if this is what people out there think.

john70t 09-12-2006 12:52 PM

I think that, and I care about Michigans economic future.

kach22i 09-12-2006 12:53 PM

Straight up guy?

Quote:

Legal rulings

In the 1979 In re. Amway Corp. (93 F.T.C. 618) ruling [7], the Federal Trade Commission found that Amway does not qualify as an illegal pyramid scheme since the main aim of the enterprise is the sale of product. It did, however, order Amway to change several business practices and prohibited the company from misrepresenting the amount of profit, earnings or sales its distributors are likely to achieve. Amway was ordered to accompany any such statements with the actual averages per distributor, pointing out that more than half of the distributors do not make any money, with the average distributor making less than $100 per month. The order was violated with a 1986 ad campaign, resulting in a $100,000 fine. [8]

In 1983, Amway, headed by Richard DeVos, pled guilty to tax evasion and customs fraud in Canada, resulting in a fine of $25 million CAD, the largest fine ever imposed in that country.

Other violations

In 2005, Amway/Quixtar orchestrated an attempt to drown out sites reporting deceptive practices and negative opinions. The "Web Initiative" was flagged as Google bombing, a violation of Google's Quality Guidelines.

I am not part of Amway, his bank, and not part of the Federal government , my knowlege base of Devos finances are limited - will not take GOP talking points as fact.

I don't trust Devos, anyone familiar with his business practices will not either.

Tools do what they are designed to do daddy, otherwise they are defective and get thrown away.

You are still fulfilling your intended purpose :)

So you fabricate attacks on him? You admit you don't know, yet you spread this stuff?

Rodeo 09-12-2006 01:07 PM

I'll shoot you in the back, you keep talkin' to me like that, fool :)

lendaddy 09-12-2006 01:08 PM

Not to mention he left Alticor in 2004. Not that you'd know that........or apparently care.

dd74 09-12-2006 01:11 PM

Is McCain running? I'd vote for him. I listened to Hillary last night during the 9/11 memorial proceedings. I heard words, beliefs, causes, etc., but noticed, I think, that she's also had "work" done.

I don't like presidential candidates who have had "work" done on themselves.

He's running, but he won't get through the primaries. Not likely anyway.

He's too literate and nuanced for "the base," i.e. daddy and his friends :)
