Couldn't agree more, Bill.
Quoted you: Isn't it becoming obvious to every one that this country is being run by a bunch of self serving bastards. I see the bickering here between left and right suporters... I cut off the last sentence since the first part is what gets me. The bickering is all about splitting hairs and playing gotcha politics. I support groups now rather than the broken system as a whole. |
Why fix it? There's too much money to be made in prolonging the problems.

We have gone from citizen politicians to career politicians and are transitioning to political dynasties
Our elected officials gerrymander, sell votes to special interest groups to raise money to get reelected in perpetuity They buy votes from the gullible public by making promises paid for by our taxes(and even then don't account for spending under GAP) that can't even be kept and that will bankrupt the country, Our elected leaders don't have to live w/ the same retirement or health care or accounting rules that everyone else has to deal w/ they have voted themselves special privligages because they believe themselves to be "special" I am so disgusted |
I would love to see (short) term limits. Get the career out of politics.

*I'll fight for you. *I'm going to not be a part of the good ole' boy network. *I'll get this (insert city, county, state) it's share of tax money. *I'll only serve one (or two, or three) terms and then resign. I'm sure there are other reasons to choose from to NOT vote for a candidate. |
I've known hundreds of politicans, and have worked for many. I just came from a breakfast where there must have been 15 pols, including the infamous Patrick Kennedy (man, he's really starting to look old for his age).
The problem is not that these are evil people. Most of them come to their jobs with idealism. BUT YOU CAN'T LEAVE THEM THERE FOR TOO LONG. The system gets to almost everone eventually. Sweep the decks, and do it regularly. |
View from the limo on their way to the Club (congress) should be, effigies of self/incumbents along the Beltway lightpoles..

You do know that the State of NH still allows the right of armed rebellion to it's citizans. |
Anyone see the Bill Moyers' report last night on PBS (Moyers On America: Capitol Crimes)? It examined the Abramoff-DeLay-Reed scandal and discussed how out of hand the lobbying of Congress has gotten. The corruption and greed of ALL members of Congress, especially the House of Reps, is disgusting. Any legislation can be bought or stopped. If you aren't outraged enough already this report will surely put you in a homicidal rage!
Here's the PBS link: http://www.pbs.org/moyers/moyersonamerica/capitol/index.html |
Two words...TERM LIMITS!!
