I dont know why I am getting sucked into this. The classic train wreck for sure.
Those Pelicans that know me will say this is out of character for me but here it is, execmalibu - I do not know you or this 911 you are selling. People have been asked to produce $100 to see 8500rpm. Few if any seem willing to do so. This is what I will do. I am not one for street racing and that is just me. I will be at Willow Springs on the 15th of November with OTR (many pelicans have been to their events). I will pay your $145 reg fee and for one tank of 91 oct gas. This will come out of my limited budget. I then ask that those in the area who feel that execmalibu's claims are exaggerated at best can come out and put their $100 up on the visor and see 8500rpm in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and even 4th over and over again. I have nothing to gain as I will not ride in execmalibu's 911. My ars is to big and would kill his speed despite the pull of his engine. I just want to see if people on both sides are willing to put forth the effort to prove this one way or the other. So there it is. Call me stupid for putting this out there but I have seen enough of these threads that I have been compelled to poney up what little $ I can spare so this one can play out. execmalibu - If you wish to talk about this off the board please feel free to call me. My cell is 805-452-7500 Thanks and my best to all.

If you get really bored, like me, do a google search on execmalibu. Some interesting stuff on the viper forums about his hubris and general lack of modesty.

Interesting, Dan, but something tells me that the car won't be able to make it as it will be "in contract" to a very well to do buyer who will be paying hugely for the privledge of owning a machine with such a jeweled heritage.
Just a hunch.....

No need for you to bear the cost alone in the (UN) likely event your proposal is accepted, Dan. I'll kick in a few bucks, and I'm sure others here would be willing to do the same.

Exemalibu, do you have pics you could post of your collection? Sounds like a dream to many of us... Or at least me. Also, do you collect motorcycles?
If I lived near you I'd be tempted to ask you to show me your 911 just so I could drool over the rest. Thanks. Eric

ERIC.. INSTRUCT ME HOW TO LOAD PHOTOS..
Dan,
I just spoke with Marco and he is going to join us..We are going to push Tony to also come along.. Marco offered to trailer out my 911S so I could bring my SL55 and also track that. I absolutely refused his offer.. The Blue "S" will be driven to the track (90 miles) raced (8,500 RPM) and then driven back to Malibu.. Thats how confident I am in the car... Bring your toys guys and your check books.. I have not been on that track for 15 years... Lets see who is real and who is MEMOREX... Eric, I dont know how to load the photos on this site.. And yes I collect bikes. I currently have a Bimota Tesi 1D-SR (906 Ducati 4V Injected, 118HP) the bike is one of only 31 built with no front forks!(Hub Center Steering) A Triumph Trident, A Bultaco 370 Pursang and a 1974 Harley Davidson..(Italian 350cc Single) Spagetti Sportster.. Plus a few more other Dirt bikes (TT600,TT350) Email me execmalibu@earthlink.net and I will send photos |

Cool!
Is someone going to get this all on video and post it on YouTube? (Google can really use the extra traffic after what they've just paid for YouTube!) Those of us on the other side of the country who have found ourselves sucked into this thread would really love to see how things play out! |

Okay, I just got the call from Execmalibu and IT'S ON LIKE DONKEY KONG!!!
The challenge was thrown down by Execmalibu and Dan Byers (the big softie from SB) has made it possible. I forsee one of the largest turnouts in Open Track history. Come One! Come All! See the greatest show on turf at the fastest road in the West!! Nov. 15th I'll be there with my camera - which does video, too - and my 356 race car. FOR THE RECORD: My dad is the infamous Tony Gerace of TLG Auto in N. Hollywood, CA. He was IN THE CAR when Execmalibu did the infamous 165. Pops just got back form New York and I filled him in on what's been going on here. He just laughed at all you nonbelievers - especially after I told him that Dave B. of TRE corroborated Execmalibu's story. I asked my dad to recount what happened and this is what he said: That damn sonofa***** was at 7800 and still pulling. I watched the needle on the speedo go PAST 165 and I thought to myself, "What the hell am I doing here?" There it is fellas. Straight from the mouth of a REPUTABLE PORSCHE MECHANIC THAT WAS THERE! So go ahead and call BS; say you don't believe him blah blah blah. The fact of the matter is that it DID happen and the car in question DOES DO the things that Execmalibu claims it can do. Like I've said before, I've driven the car. I've winged the motor. I've shown it 7,500 and the little bastard was still pulling STRONG. On another note, the only reason this thread bothers me is the name calling and personal insults from BOTH sides. If you guys want to call BS on the ad, that's cool. If you want to dispell his claims using formulas and calculations (because everyone's a mathematician and a physicist on the internet ) go ahead. But to call a guy you don't know a scumbag, a liar, a drugdealer, a douchebag, etc. is dirty pool and just plain rude. And don't act surprised when that person responds in kind. If you goade someone into a fight, don't be astonished when they knock you in the face - literally or metaphorically.-Marco Last edited by Mr9146; 10-12-2006 at 07:09 PM.. |

I'll be rooting for execmalibu. - I always like what some claim is impossible to be accomplished. And, I think the vitriol by the entrenched herein has been excessive and opportunistic. 'Piling on' is herd mentality at its basest – exhilaratingly irrational for the gang.

Hope somebody brings a radar gun or GPS tracker.
I made my offer way back on p10, but I guess DB's was betta. And Marco, once again, indicated 165 does not necessarily mean actual 165.

But he never claimed that his car went and ACTUAL 165. Nor did he claim that he GPS tracked his car and went 165. What he did say was that he went 165. Any reasonable person would deduce from that statement that he was looking at his speedometer. Hell, when the whole incident went down consumer GPS systems weren't even a blip on the radar. So please, let's try to avoid a semantic argument here. As a refresher, my dad (who was there in the car, mind you) said the needle was PAST the 165 mark... And, for my next trick, I will cite the example of our 356 - speedo calibrated by No Ho Speedo in June or July of this year; in August I ran the car to an indicated 140 with a full tank of gas, an extra passenger, luggage, spare tire, full interior, and a tool kit. Remember, my 356 is only a little 4 cylinder.
