I use ear plugs when it's warm, shooting muffs when it's cold, plus mine is a four-stroke engine, one of the quietest being sold today.
Further, there is no size pile of leaves mine won't blow around. 2 feet, 4 feet, no problem.
Stihl 550, air volume with tubes 530 CFM (877cfm without), air velocity 199 mph. I have the optional waist belt which unloads the shoulder straps by 80%.
Oh, yeah, it has cruise control on the pistol grip throttle.
