Putting Murtha's issue of courage aside, Pelosi is utilizing a tactic known as useful indiscretion. She knows the issue of Abscam will be brought up but her reply will be that he (Murtha) has changed and matured over all these years and his behavior in Abscam was back then, now his character has developed so strongly that he was courageous to the point of going against the WH on the Iraq war. She will say this is the kind of new politiican for the job.

Frankly, I don't think it will make much difference who gets the position, Nancy is driving the bus at this point..

I started this thread because I wanted people to know that I make decisions on their merits, not based on what the party leadershp wants. That would be a refreshing change for the Bush followers.

This demonstrates how difficult it is to be "bipartisan" when the oppositon tactics are to rip the flesh off anything they disagree with. So even my concession that Murtha should not get the job becomes fuel for your wild-eyed partisan fire.

How sad. This legacy that Mr. Rove/Bush have left us.
