Bob,
Just found out that evidently it was a heart attack. He had been feeling bad for about two weeks and not done anything about it. Guys and gals, at this age (above 40 or so) dammit, if you do not feel right then see a doctor about it! This is the 4th friend of mine that has passed between age 48 and 52 from something that could have been stopped had they seen a doctor in time. Lets move on and do the best we can. Our departed friends would not want us moping around like this but the holidays will not be the same this year. Joe

Joe is right - Get an annual physical and see the doc when you suspect something is amiss. Like Joe said, we've all had friends go too early...

Heard a great poem the other day (at a funeral) about the significance of the dash in our memoriams... you know, 1956-2006. Jist of it was that the little dash represents SO MUCH (happiness, sorrow, discovery, wonder, love) yet it is so short.
Enjoy your dash while you can, friends.

I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of his friend. He referred to the dates on her tombstone from the beginning...to the end. He noted that first came the date of her birth and spoke of the following date with tears, but he said what mattered most of all was the dash between those years. For that dash represents all the time that she spent alive on earth, and now only those who loved her know what that little line is worth. For it matters not, how much we own; the cars, the house, the cash. What matters is how we live and love and how we spend our dash. So think about this long and hard, are there things you'd like to change?| For you never know how much time is left. (You could be at dash mid-range.) If we could just slow down enough to consider what's true and real, and always try to understand the way other people feel. And be less quick to anger, and show appreciation more and love the people in our lives like we've never loved before. If we treat each other with respect, and more often wear a smile, remembering that this special dash might only last a little while. So, when your eulogy is being read with your life's actions to rehash... would you be pleased with the things they say about how you spent your dash? -Linda Ellis |

Lost my brother to a heart attack two years ago, he was 50, a diabetic, and drank a little too much. I'm sure if he would have taken better care of himself he would have had a longer run. When he lived down here he was larger than life, a bear of a human being, he was an enormous and powerfully person however never worked out a day in his life. A party animal and loved by everyone that knew him. And yes I'm sure he wouldn't want anyone moping around over his passing.
