The Eagles beat the legendary Vince Lombardi coached Packers in the NFL Championship game in what many consider to be the golden era of the NFL.
The Eagles are the ONLY team to ever beat Lombardi in a playoff game. And the Eagles did it against what is perhaps the greatest dynasty in the history of professional football, as the Packers would go on to win 5 of the next 7 NFL titles, a feat that has never been duplicated. And the only team that ever beat them is the 1960 Philadelphia Eagles...one of the greatest teams of all time. Trying to minimize the 1960 Eagles championship team would be like some kid 20 years from now talking about how all the Cowboys titles mean nothing cause they're 'ancient history.' A championship is a championship, and once you earn one, no one can ever take it away from you or your city. So save your taunts cowgirls fans...
