Who else's kids were in the pool this weekend?

I was driving from St Augustine, FL to MI last weekend and the weather was gorgeous!! 3300 miles on Helga and all's well! We will open our pool on Memorial Day weekend and use the heater until it really warms up.

It was 50 outside and rained 1.5" with 20 knot winds. Not ideal weather to be outside in a pool.

91 degrees here, and the pool was wonderful! Course the margarita and cigar in my hand did not hurt!

Mine were. I went in up to my knees trying to coax my 4 1/2 month old Vizsla in the water. He swam once and decided he would wait for wamer days. Smart dog.

LOL! I was gonna' make a comment about the Cosby kids being dropped off at the pool but you beat me to it.

Kids? Pool? Pfft. Did go across the street to the beach though - it was a GREAT beach day! Can't surf in no pool!

I can be on the beach either in SoCal or Rocky Point in 4 hours driving. Then I can be back home in a normal state in another 4 hours driving. Can be skiing in 90 minutes or in Vegas gambling and buffeting in 4 hours.

I paid $220k for a 3000 sq foot home WITH a pool and hot tub (yes, its almost tripled in value in 5 years) so please lets see you guys in SoCal try that!

Joe, will you be driving your 911 or riding bikes come June-Sept? How about a late afternoon run? Relaxing dinner outside? Anything outside?

In SoCal there are no bad weeks/months. Maybe a couple less than perfect days sprinkled here and there but nothing I can mark on my calendar.

8 hours driving to hang at the beach and then sleep in my own bed sounds abnormal to me.

Our Boy spent most of the weekend in the woods with his buddies and his mountin bike, our lil Girl spent most of the weekend playing a new game she invented "Where the Frisbee is". I am not as well versed in the rules as she is - they change with pretty much every throw of the Frisbee. Five bases are used, one of which is a stick and the others are chaulk marks. Sometimes a pushbroom can be used to help but most of the time it isn't allowed. Only one person can call time-out for a potty break and that person knows who she is - nobody else can call a time-out with out permission from the one person who knows who allows it, once again that one person knows who she is!

At one point I thought I had a handle on the rules but then come to find out, running to the Frisbee was not permitted because of rest time and then rest time ended without notice which was substituted for skipping to the Frisbee. I am still unsure why singing is only allowed sometimes if bunnies are referenced and you can march to the Frisbee only if you stick your arms straight out and make grumbling noises.

I don't know if the sports world is ready for "Where the Frisbees is".

Every year, my daughters and I try to be the first to jump in the pond. Tuesday it is supposed to be in the high 60's and the ice around the perimeter has melted, so I may take the plunge when I get home from work. (I will make a mad dash for the hot tub immediately after ).

A few years ago, I saw my youngest daughter walking towards the pond on an early warm spring day in her swimsuit from the window of my shop. I stripped to my underwear and made a dash for the water's edge and beat her by a couple of seconds!

Pretty silly and probably TMI, but the race to be the first in the pond has become a family tradition.

That's funny! I drove by your area the other day as I was driving Helga back home. 3300 miles in 6 days in a '74 911, not too shabby and the weather was perfect!

Some late July until first week of September the motorcycle stays put until after 9 PM. Drove my 911 for two years as a daily driver here in Phoenix, so its not a problem, just make sure that the A/C works.

As far as being outside its fine as long as you are near the pool. Relaxing dinner is held inside unless its burgers by the pool. When I am home I BBQ almost every night, no matter how warm it is outside. Once the sun starts going down it cools off fast unless its late July to 1 Sept.

Will take Arizona any day over SoCal. After all, someday most of the state is going to fall in the Pacific and Arizona will have its beach then!

Lube and Tim got it - more on the lines of crazy things kids do verses I live in a better place than you do.

I can assure you after moving 22 times - there are good and bad things about every area of the country.

Pool temp 86° air temp 80°.

My pool was a mess saturday morning but by Sunday, once I got the chlorine stabilized we were in.

I am switching to a salt system at the end of the month, no more chlorine. It should be easier on my little guys skin with the eczima.
