Thank you for the link! Sam Posey is a superb writer. He's a flat-out excellent communicator. I remember how his television commentary during some classic Indy 500s added immensely to the viewing experience. He is a national treasure. I wonder if he has written any books, or if there are any collections of his writings?

Thanks for the link. Whenever he writes a piece for Road & Track, I find myself looking forward to reading it as much as one of Peter Egan's columns. They're both magical writers. Also a treat to see him at Lime Rock.

I was lucky enough to attend LeMans in 1995 and Sam does a great job of capturing the atmosphere in his article. In my mind this is one of the motor racing 'greats' and well worth the trouble of attending at least once in a lifetime.
