Porschegirls thread about her Fender amp got me thinking... how many boat anchors... I mean fine vintage amps do I have kicking around?
A few of my favorite Fenders. Backside, yes those are orange Fender 12" JBL's A Bassman head and a SUNN that refuses to die. Some vintage transitor technology, at 240 watts this thing is louder than some 1000+watt rigs I have heard. A testimony to efficient speakers. This sure is pretty, but it doesn't work... probably will sell it on ebay. Has all the tubes but it smokes when you plug it in. This on the other hand I will restore... I swear! No really! AM/FM/SW

Still miss my old Harmon Kardon tube type gear. Have one or two tube type things around the house. May get some photos and post them! Nice Philco you have!

I thought some of you hard core guys might enjoy some guitar lessons and Shuie needs a guitar like this one.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPx3pUayCkA&mode=related&search=
Actually more a lesson in how the pickups work. This clip reminds me so much of Spinal Tap. That was a great movie for guitar geeks. Oh and there are some really cool cabs in the background so this isn't that far off topic. I saw Vox on one but am not sure if those cabs are Marshall or Vox. The Fool guitar is pretty cool. I've owned several SGs, but I've never played one that I really wanted to hold on to. |

Here are my Tube Amps. The Guitar Research mini-stack...I
actually got that free from Sam Ash for buying a Fender Strat. Its a nice sounding amp, for the price. The Bassman knockoff is a Fender Blues Deville, in tweed. They only made them in tweed for about 1 year, back in 92-93.... its a beautiful sounding amp....and has that vintage Fender verb. Its my baby but I dont get a chance to play it due to living in an apartment. Here are my guitars. I have just about everything covered lol! for any situation whenever an axe may be needed....Strat, Tele, ES335, Nylon Classical, Martin, P-Bass, Fender Dobro, 7-string Schecter C-7..... The little Marshall practice amp screams....the Boss pedal unit is just OK I have a bunch of other pedals not pictured such as Ibanez Tube Screamer, Cry Baby wah etc. Also not pictured: My Vintage Gibson EB-0 Bass and Carvin Tube amp which are back East.

But that's not an EB-0 Jack has, it's an EB-3. Jack always played EB-3s with Cream. Before he got one, he used a Fender VI Bass, which was basically a baritone guitar, and a Longhorn bass. EB-0s have one big pickup, whereas the EB-3s had 2 pickups, a large one and a small one in the bridge position. The EB0s had 2 vol/tone controls, and the EB3s had 4 vol/tone controls, with a 4-way rotary switch for changing pickup configurations. EB-0: ![]() EB-3: ![]() I used to be a huge Cream fanatic, in fact, still am. My parents thankfully never got rid of all their old vinyl albums, and I have Diraeli Gears and Wheels of Fire in my collection. (In addition to old Porsches, I also love old vinyl records.)

Good call Porschegirl....
That is an EB-3.....which is also what I have sitting somewhere in a friend's basement back east (have to pick that up or ship it out to me).... the EB-3 has the bridge pickup and is a little more versitile It has a great deep bass sound, but mine needs some work too many clicks pops and crap going on...
