Al Gore running for the Presidency

Well kids, Fox news just announced that Al Gore has told his election staff to "stand by" as there will be an important announcement shortly.

Just what we need is another "michael moore wanna be" liberal running this election. This is going to be fun to watch...

Nostril Cheese 04-22-2007 02:09 PM

you gotta admit, it's a better choice than Hillary

Joe, You don't want ANY Democrat to run, much less win so what do you care...unless Gore makes you nervous...which of course I don't expect you to admit.

Joeaksa 04-22-2007 02:30 PM

Dan,

Sorry but I do not EXPECT any Democrats to win, but if one does would sure like it to be one that is not lesbian, has a middle name of Hussain, an ex-trial lawyer, a peacenik and so on.

There are good candidates out there and ones who do not push green power whilst living in a mansion that has a monthly utility bill over $12,000.

Only thing about Gore that really makes me nervious is that he has gotten so fat in the last 10 years that he may eat us out of house and home should he ever come to this area.

campbellcj 04-22-2007 02:34 PM

I must say I've got a tad more respect for Gore than Hillary, Williams and definitely Kerry...hey, he invented the internet so how awful could he be? ;)

kach22i 04-22-2007 02:39 PM

Gore must be running, I just read this - so presidential.

Honestly, not trying to pick a flame war but...
I didn't EXPECT "W" to win...either time (and I think he didn't) but not to reopen an old argument. You never know what will happen.

Of course, I have to say that I've never seen any solid evidence that Hillary IS a lesbian - but I am not afraid of that even if she were. My only true beef with her is that she is SO polarizing she will set the Democratic Party back a long time if she is the candidate.

I don't care what a man's middle name is either. I doubt you ever confused Bill Clinton with Thomas Jefferson, or Ronald Reagen with Woodrow Wilson because of their middle names, so all that is just posturing....or childish foolishness. I'd have no problem with Barak but this country is too bigotted still IMO. If not for his color then for his parentage. He'd bring out (already has) the "haters".

Since nearly ALL politicians, regardless of party are lawyers I suppose you have less than a leg to stand on there and as for peaceniks? Heaven Forbid, you wouldn't want a President that would allow Peace to break out!

See, I just don't "get" you guys (con's). You spend more time thinking of the next thing to be afraid of than you do how to FIX SOMETHING. I'd rather fail in trying to fix something than make things worse by trying to keep things, "nice and moral, the way they're USED to be". I feel you long for a time that never truly existed....kind like "Father Knows Best" or something. Fire away, I know somebody will.

You think we don't like Barack Obama because he's black? My opposition to him is based on his voting record. He is more liberal than Ted Kennedy and John Kerry. I could care less if he becomes the Democratic Candidate. He will not win.

1. Agree, but for the "world" there could be a different image.

Bill Clinton, can you?"

If "we" is conservatives? Then no. I think America, particualrly in the middle of the country is bigotted. The majority (huge) of voters don't have a friggn clue what anyone's voting record is....that is, other than what the slash and burn TV commercials tell them a candidate's record is.

kach, I'm not on OT enough to know what your political leanings are so I am not sure what you're saying here? Hillary's image in the rest of the world? Yes, I agree they would DEFINTELY think of her differently than people here would. And mostly is that a good thing or not? In the Middleast? No good probably. In Europe? Seesm it would be MUCH better accepted.

speeder 04-22-2007 03:21 PM

He must be falling into the whole "reunion tour" fever that's going around. You know, The Police, Rage Against the Machine, The Pixies, etc...

I think it's awesome news. :)

Hugh R 04-22-2007 03:25 PM

The way the republicans have been doing run away spending disgusts me. The way the dems want to give away all my money to everyone who makes less than me disgusts me as well. $9 Trillion is the official debt and I don't think that includes all the obligations for which IOUs have been written like Social Security and Medicare, to name a few. In the next 15 years we will have rampant inflation from the Feds printing gobs of money to pay those debts which will be coming due. The million bucks that your trying to sock away to retire with have 1/4 or less of the buying power you think it will have.

Back on topic, Gore will make it an interesting race. If he loses, he'll probably go to court again.

rrpjr 04-22-2007 03:33 PM

I hope he does run, this knight of the earnest countenance. No man should wander through life as long as he has seeking to define and fulfill his destiny, his crowning moment of human purpose -- to have his ass kicked by a woman. He can finally rest, and maybe we can too.

I used to be in the middle, but then everything shifted to the right - how's that?:)

I think Hillary could be saying that in places like the mid-east she would send Bill in just for the reasons you might be thinking.

Ironic that Bush sends Condi to the Mid-East and no one says how stupid or ineffective that is.

Another one here. His being black does not bother me but his record and his association with the muslim faith knocks him right out for me.

Still holding out for Fred...

sammyg2 04-22-2007 03:52 PM

IMO Al Gore is a con-man liar who has scammed the modern world into believing the sky is falling.
As long as people are uninformed and gullible enough to buy into his extremist fictional hype, he is dangerous and we should be afraid.

jyl 04-22-2007 03:56 PM

I could vote for Al. Kind of doubt I'll get the chance, and haven't decided if he would be my first choice, but if it came down to him I would not be unhappy.

The guy is smart, experienced, and hopefully remembers the Rubinomics days when the US government ran a surplus. He doesn't seem to be a crook or a serial panderer.

At this point, almost anyone who's declared for President would be such a vast improvement over the guy there now, that I'm looking forward to 2008.
