scott..... ok point taken... but let me qualify my thoughts, i want the tv in the garage as a side note, NOT the primary place.
agreed, for a sitdown event and get together thats when the house and girl come into the conversation, but if im in a torn-up t-shirt shorts and im working on the p-car its 100 degrees out and i want to sit down for 5 minutes and take a bit of a break, i dont want to have to worry about dragging grease or oil into the house, so having a kickbackjack place in the garage to sweat in, watch a lil tv and not worry is just what the dr. ordered ..... fair? |

Watching a ballgame or a car race outside while working on a car with friends, beer, cigars, burping, farting, scratching, swearing... all the things that make my wife roll her eyes can be done in the garage... without feeling guilty anyway.

My wife calls our garage the "man cave" and I have a full-size refrigerator full of German beer, microwave, desk and computer with broadband Internet connection, speakers to play my MP3's and comfy chairs. i also keep pint glasses cold in the reefer for the beer and I hang out in the garage during the summer. I can watch the kids while they're in the pool from the garage, too.

You need a run of CAT5 cable and a old(er) computer for looking up diagrams, etc. online (the Porsche PETs are all available as PDF files....) as well as playing music, etc. thru

Yep, Helga's house is my "man cave". When we trenched the backyard to put in the gas and eletric service for the pool, we ran the trench to the garage and put in an extra schedule 80 conduit and I pushed 2 CAT5 cables through it and connected one to my LAN in the house. Now my PC in the garage can access all of my music that is stored on the server in the house. Plus, I can hang out on PelicanParts.com while I'm in the garage in the evenings...

BTW, I got stuck watching some ridiculous TV show about her motor home that she uses at the races. Yeah, she's pretty friggin' stupid. I don't think I'd want to spend much time around that camp. Quote:
