Update on wife

She had a relatively peaceful night last night, was responsive and could acknowledge by wilggling her toes or a slight nod. She was strong enough to undergo a CT yesterday and if they find any infection they cen needle it out. Right now, they are "adjusting" her pulse rate. If you try to regulate one, it effects the other. When I left at 11 this AM, they had it to roughly 120/70 and pulse 82. At times the BP was 180/110 and at tohers the pulse was 130+. I am confident they will find the balance point. She tolerates "fennel"(sp), but the other I cannot remember the name.

Jim...It is Heparin.

As for me......I am right now strangely calm. Last night, leaning back in the resliner I felt a small pressure on my forhead. I would like to think it was a kiss.........

Thank you all for the support. Now she has coverage like the old British Empire.....THe sun never sets on someplace where someone is sending good thoughts.

And yes, we are extremely close...two people finding each other the second time 'round and finding out, like one of my daughers has observed that we can even finish each others sentences. She is a gift to me; one that I try never to take for granted....

Fentanyl(sublimaze) perhaps, strong narcotic, often used in general anesthesia.

Sounds like she is doing pretty well, keep talking to her and be upbeat as you can around her, it helps.

Bob, it hurts just to read this. I'm not sure how I would handle things if this happened to my wife. I'm still sending prayers your way!

I am not a doctor, but "finding a balance" sounds like good news. Thanks for keeping us posted -- I'm sure I'm not the only one praying for you.

Yes...best wishes here. They have miracle drugs these days. I'm happy to hear that there is improvement.

Bob,

Your Wife and You are in our prayers. We wish you both the best and know a speedy recovery is in the works!!

I would like to offer some simple prayers:

O God of heavenly powers, by the might of your command you drive away from our bodies all sickness and all infirmity; Be present in your goodness with your servant, that her weakness may be banished and her strength restored; and that, her health being renewed, she may bless your holy Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Almighty God, we entrust all who are dear to us to thy never-failing care and love, for this life and the life to come, knowing that thou art doing for them better things than we can desire or pray for; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Thanx guys...

My primiary concern would be the point at which the drugs are no longer assisting and become supporting.

Moses....I am concerned that part of MY problem is impatience. Given the emergency nature of the situation (Doctor error; emergency surgery, abdominal infection), am I being too impatient after only 12 days? No looking for a diagnosis ere, just some basic guidance.
