Condolences, Marc. You didn't say which one, but have been down that road twice recently - you have my sympathy.

Marc, Our thoughts are with you and your family. Our Thor passed the week before last. 11.5 years young. Very very quiet around here. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1181784372.jpg

Sorry to hear about your loss. We lost our Toby-dog a few months back and I still miss him. But pets do continue to leave a lot of good memories even after they're gone.

I feel for you. My dog passed after being spayed last week. She was not quite 3.

I'm just thankful for the fantastic time that I was able to share with her.

WOW! Five posts in this thread and you've got tears welling up in this retired Marine's eyes. I can't begin to imagine how I'm going to deal with it when that time comes for either of ours. It's really amazing, the bonds our pets will forge with us if we let them.

Condolences to each and every one of you.

Randy :(

Ohhhh. :( :( I'm so sorry. I've been through this a few times now and it pains me to know what you are going through. I have a heavy, sad heart for you.

"if we let them"???? You mean we have a choice? Yes, we've all been there...but that doesn't make it easier.

I say "if we let them" because unfortunately, there are those who chose to not treat these companions with the love and respect they so deserve.

My condolences.

I still think of Bert (and the others) every day. Now Jessy is our girl and she is a treasure. Get another as soon as you feel up to it - your friend would want it that way.

We lost our old cat a few months back.

I still get sad sometimes. I know how you feel.
Remember the good times and rescue a new buddy.

The sting of parting is small compared to the joy of time shared. Among my best friends are a couple dogs and horses. Feel blessed, and savor the experience.

Yes, Thor's a Bernese Mountain dog. The perfect dog, except he didn't give kisses. One of his many cute traits was how he liked to gently grab your hand and either walk you to the treats bin or take you outside for a walk. Spoiled that dog was, spoiled I tell ya!

Marc so sorry to hear.:( My 14 yo Husky has been having alot of problems lately. I'm dreading that day...

911boost 06-14-2007 08:05 AM

My Keiko (16 yo cat) got cancer and we had to put her to sleep a couple of months ago. I cried like a baby, it was very tough. I'm going to need to take a couple days off work when I have to do the same thing with Samson (6 yo German Sheppard) and his buddy Casey Jones (5 yo all black pug).

I am sorry to hear about your loss.

Marc, my condolences

These threads are so sad. But at the same time, anyone who talks about how much they miss their dog must have given their pet a wonderful life.

I've got an old beagle who had a rough time earlier this year, but seems like a puppy lately. I always end up spoiling him a little more after reading these posts.

boston95 06-14-2007 11:23 AM

Thanks for the kind words, fellas. It all happened very sudden...one moment he was vomiting, 2 days later with a fever he died.

He has been with me for 1/3 of my life. He pre-dated life with kids.

Hard to see how I'll get over this.....

KFC911 06-14-2007 11:29 AM

My condolences to you Marc. My 14 yr old yellow lab is really showing her age too, and I dread the day that I know is coming...

azasadny 06-14-2007 12:40 PM

My condolences to all of you guys who have lost pets. They become part of the family! We have two ferrets who are dying right now and we're going to miss those funny little weasels!
