Forkin' idiots.

Natural selection at work. Too bad the cat wasn't able to finish the job.

Really old video, but I like it anyway. Yeah, I suspect he won't poke one again.

I knew a guy who got kicked by a horse. He lost his spleen as a result.

I hope I'm not the only one rooting for the cat while watching that video. People who abuse animals deserve to die slowly in small cages.

Abuse? They were obviously trying to release it. You guys that cheer the harm suffered by a fellow man, who in this case is apparently trying to do something to help this animal, need to get a grip. These animals don't always cooporate, even if it is for their own good. That these men were unarmed and didn't just shoot the sonofab!tch at the first sign of trouble is a pretty clear indication that whatever it was they were up to was not meant to harm it.

A ranger is trying to release a leopard, one he my have saved and nursed back to health, and you guys wish the leopard would have inflicted more damage to him. Try to imagine how many more poachers would be out on the savanna, if it were not for men like this one. I'm glad I know how you value a humans life.

Leave the cage with the door open. The cat would've figured its own way out. The poking/taunting was completely unnecessary.

+1

kitty cat was scared from the ride, just needed some time to settle down and then bugger off

all the had to do was drop the cage, open the door with a long rope, and then come back the next day to collect the empty cage

I did a tour of Tippi Hendren's "Shambala" big cat rescue preserve outside of LA a few years ago (highly recommended!). Before we started the tour, a guide demonstrated as to why we shouldn't put our fingers through the chain-link fence.

Standing outside an enclosure of a Jaguar (that happened to have a condition causing it to suffer vertigo), he held a piece of raw chicken through the chain-link. The cat lunged at the trainer/chicken from appx. 30' away and was able to snap at the chicken/finger snack so fast the trainer barely had enough time to pull his hand away.

Totally amazing...a sick cat weighing over 200 lbs. moved 30' before you could blink. And he did so silently.

The solution of all ignorant people on this planet "just shoot it" you redneck idiot. Thank God you're not involved with the preservation of animals!!!!! Oh how I would love to find you lost and wandering around, I would put you in a cage, poke you with a stick and the enforce your solution. Bang Bang- goodbye a hole.

alllllrighty then.

I'm an animal person through and through. I root for the cows/bulls/horses at rodeos.

But we should be playing nice here.

I think the situation was probably handled wrong, but ultimately if it comes down to me or an animal and it's my choice, it'll be me every time.

Lets not pass judgement from so brief a statement.
