I have a bunch of spares in the garage (control arms, wheels, rear shock mounts, radiators, shifters, etc...). I can put the stuff in a box and you guys can pick through what you need/want.

Let me now when's a good time to stop by Mike. We'll definitely need those wheels and a radiator. We've got some control arms coming, I think.

Are you going to seriously be able to convince them you got that for 500 bucks? I think if they suspect shenanigans (e.g. one friend "selling" it to another for 500 when there's another few hundred or grand under the table) they assess a value and penalize you.

Good luck though - can't wait to hear how this turns out.
Just as a data point, here is my 325e that I sold for $750, the car did have some "issues" and more than 330Km on the clock

Looks like a fun project and the race must be pretty wild as well, Good luck!

I would formally like to donate a broken BMW tape deck to the cause! Please let me know how to get it to you

It's a full-on rustbucket (front floorboard completely gone) that had no air, no power steering, no ABS, no muffler, no seats...... quite ratty.

No thanks on the tape deck. I already donated one of those to the dumpster/landfill.

There are a couple of local guys here that will be running along side 'ya.
In fact I just finished the exhaust for one of them

Good luck, and keep her top side up!

What's exhaust used for?

None of this would have happened without our tech expert BooBoo and his giant earmuffs.
