Ever since the Early Registry threw me out and told me not to come back I have lost all track of what the Early S market is up to. As most of U know I have concentrated on other things..my beloved spoons

A point that's not been mentioned is how cheap the US$ currently is for Europeans and Brits in particular.

For European buyers the price of this car is not at all out of line - assuming the condition is as stated.

I agree. I felt I left some money on the table when I sold mine to Martin. However, had I interviewed potential owners, I would have picked him anyway. She has a good, loving home now.

Truth be known? A '99 Ford Ranger serves my needs these days better than a '72 S served my needs back in the late 70's.

Truth be known. I drive my wifes PT cruiser when I want to have a blast through the hills here. Drove it up into the bean field last night to pop a few groundhogs too. Like going on safari..:-)
Fun little car once you put your pride away.

Cute spoons Tabbydoll. But lemme tell ya...you walk in a hall carrying one of these? You've ARRIVED, baybe! Problem is...you'd damned well better have the equipment inside, and the shooting skill to back it up...

Hey Mullah Oblongata,

Do you still have your Ivory 69S? (at least that is what sticks in my mind it was) Just an honest curiosity. Last I recall you were asking for recommendations for a restorer.

I grew up with Aunts who collected spoons. Seeing yours makes me feel kind of warm and fuzzy.

From an e-mail I just got. (Had forwarded this link.)

"That guy XXX XXXXXXXXXXX, the fellow selling the car on Ebay is well
known for "over pricing". He managed to get hold of my old 550 Spyder
replica from the guy I sold it to, and wask ing 35K for it! He has
lots of cars that are overpriced, and his clientele are people who have
more money than sense..."

This I can believe. See reference post to P.T. Barnum earlier...

Good to see the "ex-communicated" (lovingly referenced and tongue in cheek) alive and well on Pelican.

Even with the crazy prices on Early Esses, the Ebay car is asking for crack smoking dollars. That auction is a shot in the dark. Rarely does a shot in the dark hit, but occasionally it does. My bet is on a miss.
