anyone ever have Gout?

My Dr took me off any OTC pain meds, especially Tylenol when my liver disease was diagnosed and I haven't taken it since then... Colchicine made me so sick I wanted to die and it didn't touch my gout.... I used to have gout flare-up's when I was fasting.... I never ate any of the foods on the "foods to avoid when you have gout" and I had constant gout pain that never subsided... Allopurinol keeps in under control and my SUA is <3.

a new med as recently been released for gout treatment and was a godsend for me...allergic to the other meds.

Art, stay away from tylenol and stuff with tylenol in it if you are taking that much Allopurinol.

A few years ago some big pharma company did some bureaucratic gymnastics and got the sole rights to clochicine. It was a pre FDA drug, so this company did a bunch of crap that resulted in their have sole rights to their version of colchicine, colcris, or however you spell it, and prohibitied other colchicine from being sold. Went from a dime for a pill to five dollars.

I remember that. I had my doc write me a colchicine Rx, like 50-100 tablets I think, so as to have a supply. I have taken maybe 2 colchicine tablets/yr since getting my weight and sUA down. I wonder what the shelf life is?
