RIP dd74...

I'm a new user - a newbie - a babe thrust into the dark domain via his first post in the wasteland among the wastrels of Pelican OT.

Why?

Aside from the presumption that I could have been banned, it seems the Pelican BBS server had a spot of indigestion yesterday, and dissolved my entire profile (dd74) See this thread for confirmation of my "N/A" status:

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?t=371016

Oh well, as is, I grew tired of the Daffy avatar, and welcome the change to an album cover from one of the greatest bands of modern times - New Order.

As to my 15,153 posts gone up in smoke - I don't know - it wasn't like I said anything memorable in that great, grand waste of yours and my time. :D

But just to show I'm the same old dd who continually looks to comment on the weird and wonderful, here is video of a kangaroo tangled up with a track full of Aussie race cars...

But we like the new Dave... so fresh and full of promise, new hope and possibilities... now we're stuck with the same ol' Dave again...

Don't worry Dave, Wayne shut me down as well. I think he has a thing for nostalgia!

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around me
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
Don't get fooled again
No, no!

I was looking forward to seeing which New Order album cover you had chosen...
(The Red Dwarf reference was not lost on me.)

After 18 years, I still can't decide which I like more on this album - "Mr. Disco," "Vanishing Point," or "Dream Attack."

I thought Wayne would never get around to banning DD74..his views are outrageous and down right inflamatory....that said it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. Welcome back to he11.

If you think that's bad, it's been 27 years since Ian Curtis died. How old do you now feel?

So DD, are you a son in law of a "Bob Clampett cartoon", or dare i say it, "Chuck Amuck"?

I'm with the Clampett camp, which you might know doesn't see eye-to-eye with the Jones camp, particularly with who created what characters, etc.

Supposedly, Clampett has more censored cartoons than anyone else in the history of animation. He's almost a no-no in modern day programming. Is that something to be proud of? In this business, you bet!

If a network like Boomerang plays one of his more controversial WB shorts, it's so cut up with edits, that the cartoon is barely worth watching.

As for Chuck - he was a thinking man's animator/director. Wile E. Coyote/Road Runner is still an amazing series for all that it doesn't have. It's like animated literary minimalism.

I think, if you can call it "disturbing," the most disturbing cartoon Chuck's done (and I believe it is censored), is "Chow Hound." If you can find the short, check it out with the word "addiction" in mind, and see what you come up with as a commentary on substance abuse.
