Looks good John! I think once the boxing and siding are on it won't look so tall.

I think the siding was left on to save time($$$), roof to wall flashing will be above it anyway. It saves time because now the siding is cut exactly like the roof pitch and will expedite reinstallation. Bonus is that it is an added barrier between a hot/cold attic and your living space.
As long as the trusses are anchored securely to the wall studs, it should not be a problem.

So the siding will be cut along the truss/roof line and the flashing slid in behind what is there?

Yep.

Sheeting is going on the roof today along with bracing up the trusses.

Can't wait to get my car in there!

Looks like I'm causing a buzz in the neighborhood, builder has all the neighbors asking him about additions on their houses now.

Really making progress. If the rain holds off, the roofer will be here tomorrow.

My wife couldn't wait to park in it.

I guess so....by Sunday night you'll be enjoying a cold one and arranging your tools.

BTW...very nicely integrated with the existing home home design.

Gotta wait for the door guy and the final inspection before I move the tools in. I still have some electrical and dry wall work to do. Won't stop me from having a cold one in there this weekend.

Garage
Looks great, you sure work fast! I'll be doing a very similar project next summer. I poured the footings and concrete floor this year, adjacent to my existing garage and my new garage will be 20' feet deep, 28' wide and 17' tall.

We finally got a week of rain last week. No rain for 3+ months till I do a construction project.

Builder is installing siding today and I started electrical layout. I'll be running wires starting tonight if I can get home from the office at a decent hour.

Fun part is the garage door, 3 week lead time, custom 9x18......not cheap.

I'll try to get more pics of the fully sided place.

Garagapalooza.....hmmmmm, may end up with the xmas party there if the Kart people don't get back with me.

Builder is done with his part. Hope to get the wiring at least partially completed this weekend after I finish my CMP track prep, then I call the drywall people.

I don't get what's going on with the back door.

It's framed out as an opening.

Are you going to fashion the door from that wall? Basically cut it out and hinge it?
