I just saw this on FaceBook....The "tagline" for the group is "It's just the beginning, We about to shut this country down." Nice and patriotic, huh?

Money is tight for me right now, but, well, if they're going to spend nothing, I'll spend double to make up for it. I might even go out of my way to spend MORE than I normally would.

Does this remind anyone of when the Mexicans tried this? And failed? I have my popcorn and bourbon ready to watch this fail just the same.

On a slightly tangential note, this reminds me of the thread Rammstein started the other day, in which he recalls a "conversation" he had with a woman who stated "no blood for oil" and when questioned as to "why" she responded only with a blank stare. If I had to hazard a guess, if I were to question the members of this FaceBook group on "why" I bet I'd get only blank stares. Or possibly a regurgitation of Jesse Jackson's propaganda.

necessary for African Americans, and is long over due. Especially

WHY: As African Americans we spend an estimated 715 billion dollars
a year, and if we were to stop spending for one day that is 2
billion dollars that will not in the system. However, we ask that
you don't make a mad dash to the stores days prior or on thedays
following. If the stores have a major increase in sales right
before or right after the Blackout than we will not create the
impact we are striving for.

I'm really about to be pushed over the edge with this "I'm black and I'm a victim" bullcrap. There are plenty of blacks doing just fine, but of course we never hear about them. It is always the ones that just want to sit around and whine. "Oh boo hoo, I saw a noose, I'm traumatized." Yet at the same time they try to justify the wrongs other blacks commit, ex: OJ, Vicks, etc. They ignore the fact that these same bunch of losers commit the same racial atrocities that they accuse whites of. No wonder they are failing to advance as a group. I've got news for you, the Chinese who were brought to America to build the railroads were treated as bad or even worse than the slaves, yet today have managed to integrate into society.

Here's an interesting fact. There are about 30 million blacks in the US. There are about 33 million Canadians. The combined wealth of blacks in the US is greater than the combined wealth of all Canadians (I'm not bashing Canadians. I love Canada, and hockey, and maple leafs, and round bacon!!!).

I'm just pointing out that the US has been pretty good to blacks. It's been historically harsh early on, but damn, stop biting the hand...

OK- so where are the injustices?

Are they:

- the countless commercials featuring two characters, where the guy in the 'know' is always the black guy, and the clueless guy needing his help is white?

- the increased chances of college acceptance and financial aid?

- the ability to make fun of other races while being immune to retorts?

- the ability to pull out the 'race' card any time a black person gets fired, arrested, questioned, etc.?

I could go on, but what's the point? I am sure I am going to be labeled a racist now.

Here's where I think the REAL injustices are:
I cannot imagine being a black guy striving for success. I think it would suck. I'd see jerkoffs like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton on tv claiming to represent my interests. I'd wonder in my head if I really would have gotten hired/accepted/promoted if I hadn't been black. I'd feel awkward when everyone else in the room is making fun of each other for being Italian/Chinese/Gay/White/RedNeck/etc, and nobody ever dishes anything harsh to me. That would suck, I am not joking. I'd wonder if people who really thought I was screwing something up were going easy on me for fear of me calling out 'racism'.

I realize that in some areas, some towns, some places, some pretty harsh discrimination exists against blacks. But I think people need to take a step back, before they end up CREATING racists out of ordinary people frustrated with how skewed things are getting.

I am worried to post this, because I think there's a lot of chance of it being misinterpretted, and I really hope that the readers will understand me- I want everyone to be EQUAL.

There is not another country in the world that could produce both Oprah and Tiger and afford them all the success that they deserve. Would they be any richer if they were white or Hispanic or Asian?

That level of success is color-blind here in the US.

My boss's boss's boss (VP) is black. There are several black managers in my area (earning low six figures) at work. The president of the local university (Illinois State) is black (and he started out as a professor). I know plenty of black men and women who have reached a high level of success through their own effort and hard work.

We also have a lot of expatriats from the Chicago "projects" in Bloomington/Normal, and a lot of lazy white trash.

Guess what? The black VP's play golf with the white VP's. The black thugs knock up liqour stores with the white thugs.

This is an economic issue, not a race issue. The unfortunate part is that a few evil men (Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson) have taught a generation of blacks that they are entitled to the good life because of their skin color and not because of their own hard work. This has also helped to trap those that follow their misguided teachings in the underclass.
