HUMILIATION : Patriots Style
about 9 minutes to go in the 4th, you're up by 38 to 0.
You're at your opponents 20 yard line, it's 4th and 4 to go... do you kick the field goal or do you go for it ? you guessed it. they went for it. another TD. 45-0. woooooo |

At this point, bragging rights for a 9-0 record.

The colts are very good, but the pats may be the best of all time. Averaging over 41 points a game.
Belichick is all class. The way he controls his team, the discipline, the dedication, no one else can come close. He has my admiration. |

This isn't High School ball, you don't worry about the other players self esteem.
They may indeed be the best team in NFL history.

Also, you give no quarter and expect none in return. If you try to be "gentlemanly" in competition, you lose. The Patriots don't go out and put late hits on guys or play dirty - they play by the rules and per the expectations of professional competition. I see nothing whatsoever wrong with it. Don't want to get beaten by five touchdowns? Fine, then stop 'em from beating you by five touchdowns. Simple enough. It wasn't all that long ago (for some of us) when the '84 Chicago Bears were doing the same thing and I never cried that they should have shown mercy in Superbowl XX when they pounded the Patriots 46-10. That's the nature of competition. They should have been better if they didn't want to get beaten so handily.

Joe Gibbs snubbed Billichick and ran off the field without shaking hands after the game. Seems like sour grapes. If a team isnt good enough to stop the other team, then they should at least be men about taking their beating.

I hate the 'Skins but I gotta agree with On-Ramp.
Like I said before after the Cowboys/Pats game...Belichick has no class... Yeah you try to beat the hell out of the other guy but there IS something called sportsmanship.

"Handicaps" and other such girlie nonsense are for non-sports like golf. If you want to play football, the expectation is that you kill or be killed.

I love it and it serves a purpose. Teams are scared ****less of the Pats now, this gives them yet another edge. If the other team thinks (or even a few players) "sweet mother, they beat every team by 35 points, how the hell are we gonna hang?" you've already gained an advantage.
You kill them all then salt their fields. "This is Sparta!!!!!1" ![]()

The best part was that the skins couldn't even stop the back-up Cassell from scrambling for a 15 yd touchdown...thats just sad
also the fake spike td to Moss was great. And Welker is a stud

hey look...don't blame Bellichick for this....
When the Pats won their 3rd Superbowl there were dumb people everywhere saying: "duh, that is no dynasty...they only won their 3 SBs by 3 points each!" or "duh, Brady never did anything spectactular...he is an Average Quarterback!" or "duh, see...the Patriots were cheaters duh..." So now Bellichick after hearing that garbage for the past 5 years says: "now see what we can do with proper weapons at Wide Receiver, and the Best QB of all time (possibly)... any questions?" (and raises his middle finger to all of the dumb 'haters') |

IF they match the Dolphins...undefeated all the way to the Super Bowl, then win that? Then maybe I'll agree with you. Yeah, I know...some will claim apples & oranges, longer season today, etc...still, to me, that's the acid test.
(edit) Don Schula (sp?) was a class coach...

Hey correction, Bellicheck and Gibbs did shake hands at the end of the game...
figured that Gibbs would be classy like that. Earlier the TV tried to show that they didnt as they showed Gibbs jogging off and then cut to Bellichick looking confused around for him....but that was just fancy editing, turns out they did shake. Word is that NBC is in discussion with Bellicheck for a new sitcom pilot called "Everybody Loves Bill". |
