When General MacArthur left Japan in the early 1950's it was widely speculated that he would return to the United States and run for President.
He was beloved by the Japanese population whom he had treated with magnanimity and respect since their defeat in 1945... On the route to the airport - MacArthur's motorcade passed by a great banner strung across the road. It read: "Good luck with the erection!!!" I don't know if there is a moral in all of this, but make sure and go vote today...

I already voted as well. Got there a few minutes after the polls opened... even before the people with signs who swarm you got there. I think I was #10 for the day.
