Bonds Indicted

Talk amongst yourselves.

Porsche-O-Phile 11-15-2007 02:44 PM

I bet he squishes the prosecutor's head like a grape in his oversized forearms.

Overpaid Slacker 11-15-2007 02:46 PM

A look of shocked, abject disbelief completely failed to cross my face.

Good, about time.

onewhippedpuppy 11-15-2007 02:47 PM

I'm just shocked!

Hopefully he is convicted, and they pull his sorry name from the record books. Aaron was an absolute class act, his record should not belong to a cheater.

Your're right, it long overdue, he's as guilty now as he was 3 years ago.

ikarcuaso 11-15-2007 02:51 PM

Why didn't this happen sooner? It would be interesting to know if Greg Anderson got tired of sitting in jail and finally talked.

72 four door 11-15-2007 02:53 PM

Looks like its time for him to get it in the asterist, bubbas waiting in the federal pen for you homerun boy

Everyone knew the indictment was going to be handed down shortly after the season ended.

At the end of the day, it's a shame, he would have had a Hall of Fame career (although would not have beat Aaron's HR record) without steroids. I don't think he can beat these charges, but even if he does, all of his accomplishments (including his pre-steriod accomplishments) are irrevocably tainted.

Porsche-O-Phile 11-15-2007 03:02 PM

Where's Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson to rant about how this and the O.J. indictment are evidence of the white man's great conspiracy to keep the black man down?

the 11-15-2007 03:10 PM

The indictment was just handed down, sheesh. Give them at least a few hours.

Couldn't have said it better.

M.D. Holloway 11-15-2007 03:21 PM

Say it ain't so Roy! Say it ain't so...

widgeon13 11-15-2007 03:26 PM

Hope they don't stop there, there are most likely a bunch more of these goons.

I'm plagerizing this from MSNBC but.....

Barry isn't getting what he deserves, he's getting what he's EARNED.

This guy has thumbed his nose at everyone along the way. He's thumbed his nose at fans, managers, owners, baseball's rules, the law...anyone I missed?

The irony is this guy was absolutely blessed with baseball talent, good looks, he speaks well when he chooses to lower himself to speak to mere mortals. By most reports he ALREADY had a Hall of Fame career before he used steroids. If he had a half-ass decent attitude he could have had endorsements out the gazoo. But instead he is a pariah. I hope he gets truly scared by this process. Oh, and his career is now over too. What a waste.

Boy, you or they could not have said it better. He is such a dick, from long ago until now.

sammyg2 11-15-2007 07:18 PM

Just one more example of the white man trying to keep a brother down. just like with OJ.
At least that's what the guy on the news radio channel was saying this afternoon. In one sentence he said that it was based on racism, then in his next sentence he said it was because people liked Henry Aaron more than Barry. Wasn't Hammerin' Hank black?
I'm confused. isn't it illegal to lie to a grand jury regardless of skin color?
If not it should be.

Dan in Pasadena 11-15-2007 07:28 PM

This indictment has nothing to do with racism but you can get ready for the accusation alright. I guess if I thought my only chance to stay out of federal prison was to make counter accustions (gulp) I would consider it too. In Barry's case, he's a jerk and he isn't "considering it, he thinks he KNOWS its based on race.

Of course it might have helped if Palmero and even McGwire had been indicted for contempt of Congress though wouldn't it?!

True indeed.

Maybe Bonds and Vick can share a cell?

CJFusco 11-15-2007 09:02 PM

What a weird thing the baseball world is right now.

The game is more popular than ever, nobody's fans want the best player in the game on their team, and the home run king is going to prison.

Not to mention that it looks like the Red Sox and Yankees have traded places in the last 3 years.
