Sorry for the lack of a bikini. ;) it was in the mid 40s with 20-30mph wind and drizzle...

Where was this, Sidney?

porsche4life 02-11-2013 05:52 PM

The Sandbass were from Lake Lawtonka near Lawton, OK, right on the edge of the wildlife refuge. Really pretty background of Mt Scott.

We pulled the stripers out of Lake Texoma, while not a ton of great scenery, it's known. For big stripers and lots of 'em. As the name suggests, it's right on the OK TX border.

He got this one just fishing off the shore with his friends - they had to run for a mom to come take a picture.

Caught one 8lbs larger later that summer off Cape Cod...no pics, doesn't count...;)

A few from prior years. The rockfish (striped bass) was caught on the last day of Jan a couple years back while quite a few boats fished amongst whales just a mile off the beach. Was 40" iirc. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1398431262.jpg

Northerns and Muskies are from the same family, the coloring is a little different and we caught some good sized ones pretty deep (30-40 inch) but they do like colder climate. Same family as Walleye but not nearly as tasty and boney. Stinking fresh water Barracuda as far as I am concerned.

(edit) Looks like a Pike to me.

Free night in jail here in CT for keeping a Striper that small, 28" min here IIRC.

Guess the laws are different down there?
