Foose 300SL

What do you think?

SEMA 2011: BASF Mercedes-Benz 300 SL by Foose Design

As far as I can see, the differences are minor, looks like no body work. Changed front and rear bumpers, one piece, no bumper guards. Extended chrome over vents. New wheels and tires...Extended lower chrome past rear wheel. 2 tone paint.

Traditional..

I removed my front and rear bumper guards on my 190 about 12 years ago...I think it really sets off the look but the "purists" tell me it is wrong...

Call me a purist, but the wheels and paint scheme on the Foosemobile are just wrong. And nice 190 you've got there.

Thanks, love that little car.

I agree, I like what he did with the bumpers and perhaps the vent chrome, other than that, I prefer the original.

The Foose 300 looks stupid.

The wheels look out of place and the two tone paint job completely destroys the lines.

IMHO the 300 is one of the most beautiful, sexiest cars ever made.

It is perfect in every way.

My 55" 190SL, #7 off the line 1st production year.

That's right, you knew my dad.

Of course.

They are part of the car.

I'm the one that came up with that plate 30+ years ago.

At one time we had a few cars with that plate, just different number of e's on the end.

Do you remember the gray 220?

My brother has that one in Florida.

I'll dig up some pics.

Looks like STS-115 in 2006.

How to get to Space View Park, Titusville FL

Found it by Googling "rocket launch viewed from space".

Foose's version is very nice, but I can't help but ask this question:

so Mike (Angelo), how do you like my updated version of the Sistine chapel ceiling?
