Not nearly enough braking power for its weight like a lot of cars of that era. My mom told me that once he was on a long, downhill grade and a guy up ahead stepped out into the highway to flag my grandfather down. The guy was parked by the side of the road with car trouble.

As I remember it, this idiot stayed out in the road waving his arms (paved two lane IIRC), my grandfather couldn't stop in time, and he had to choose between hitting the guy or hitting the guy's car because there was oncoming traffic.

He chose hitting the car, probably because hitting the guy was definitely gonna kill him. I don't remember if he could see if anyone was in the car, but... there were... and people died.

In case it wasn't already obvious for Latin speakers, the seiottosei name symbolizes the car's extremely low weight in kilograms (1512 pounds), which becomes even more impressive considering that its turbocharged Renault engine develops 300 hp.

Fitted with a set of Toyo R888 tires, the Ermini seiottosei can reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standing start in just 3.5 seconds, onwards to an electronically-limited top speed of 270 km/h (168 mph).

While some people might overlook the impressive performance figures and the rather interesting history of the company, they can't possibly overlook the fact that it's one of the last remaining bastions still following Colin Chapman's philosophy - “Simplify, then add lightness.”

In the episode, the three presenters (Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May) attempted to follow the path of the Three Wise Men to Bethlehem. Hammond drove the Fiat Barchetta (specifically a Riviera Special Edition featuring a black paint job and red quilted leather), compared to Clarkson's Mazda MX-5 and May's BMW Z3. At the end of the episode, the Barchetta was declared the most desirable and reliable of the three cars.

The car was presented at the Geneva Motor Show last week and marks both the TV show and the design school’s twentieth birthdays. The car was created in just 120 days by 20 students from the Espera Sbarro Design School.
