A Cessna 150 is quite affordable, forgiving to fly (and land), and has an economical fuel burn. They also enjoy a fairly brisk resale turnover when you grow tired of it.

IIRC there were no tires being made for them at one point in time...can't speak to the issue today.

Definately not carbon fiber. Painted aluminum.

It is a 1945 Consolidated PBY-6A Catalina.
Interesting observation: Notice the wheels are down. It is taxiing ashore.

Transasia crash


A TransAsia Airways Corp. turboprop plane crashed into a river near Taipei moments after taking off, killing at least 19 of the 58 people on board in the second fatal accident in less than a year for the Taiwanese airline.
