But that helicopter just about knocked three grown boys off their feet as it came down - the power and the noise was unfreaking believable!

The Maserati belonged to Wally Schirra. The guy washing it was Schirra's son. The car had been sold and he washing it for the new owner who, according to this was standing next to the photographer:
Comment Classic: Wally Schirra’s Son Washes His Dad’s Maserati For The Last Time In the same Life magazine was a photo of Apollo 7 astronaut Walt Cunningham working on his 911S. True car guys. ![]() Apparently the car is now owned by an Rgruppe member. In The Garage: Astronauts and Porsches

"One carefull astronaut owner? Astronaut Walter M. Schirra's son cleaning his father's car.
Unknown 150. Picture sent to me by Andrea Montalenti. Appeared in Time magazine and was made in 1967 by Ralph Morse" [/QUOTE]Fifteen minutes of fame??: (09-06) 09:58 PDT San Francisco (SF Chronicle) -- The son of astronaut Walter Schirra has pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography following his November arrest at San Francisco International Airport on child sex charges, court records show. Walter M. Schirra III, 55, of San Francisco, a property manager, entered a guilty plea Aug. 31 to a federal charge of possession of child pornography. He will be sentenced Dec. 7 by U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer in San Francisco. Schirra was arrested Nov. 6 as he attempted to board a plane for Thailand, allegedly to solicit sex with underage boys, authorities said. A search of his luggage revealed photos of shirtless Asian boys, prescription drugs to enhance sexual performance, condoms and large amounts of candy, said Special Agent Catherine Miller of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. None of the seized items is illegal, but a search of a computer at Schirra’s home revealed images of child pornography, Miller said. |

Kinda sad really... That boy had some very large shoes that he probably felt he had to fill. He obviously made a wrong turn somewhere along the line. I hope he got his head on straight, but sometimes that's not possible.
Garage cleaning day at my neighbor's house. He say's he's finally selling the T-bird (but he has another just like it - and they're perfect!).
