Location: Placerville, CA.... You know, the only place on Highway 50 between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe the you find signal lights. Above the fog most of the time and I can see the stars of the Milky Way 8 out of 10 nights. Kinda cool.....

$188 Walmart wonders that actually worked pretty darn well. Even if they get destroyed, your wallet wouldn't cry as much if they were the $800-1000 boats.

Wife wanted to give kayaking a go. I did it years ago and would be fine getting into it via the high end stuff. Figured better to test the waters cheaply first. Even if we go deep, these will work great for family and friends.

Hope there is built in floatation in there. No protection for that big hole in top.

Other than the gas bag (me) with the paddle, I put some high density foam cell in the nose. I'm sure she (the wife) will only want to hit the local lake on a calm sunny day. I'm already surfing Craigslist for a 12-14' used boat. Something Monterey worthy for paddling around the kelp beds.
