Sea Tow is not cheap

The Red 911S belonged to a friend’s father, he was fortunate enough to find it and buy it back.

Byron - love the Vector pics. A guy with a Vector used to show up once in a while at a cars & coffee in Detroit about 15 years ago.

Of course ‘nunya business’ is a very perfectly valid response if you so desire. But I’ve wondered about this for as long as i can remember here.
Just another car nut ever since I was a little kid playing with Hotwheels, going to the local dragstrip and reading Road & Track The rally focus started in 1979 right outside my door in Houghton MI (the Press on Regardless) while at engineering school (same year I went to my first IMSA race, F1 race, Indy 500, CanAm race and TransAm race - that was good year). I've been involved in various aspects of rallying over the years and owned a bunch of cool cars but sold them all several years ago. Didn't think I'd ever buy another fun car (been there, done that, got 100 T-shirts) but the 2 listed below sort of dropped into my lap without much effort recently

Thanks for clearing up the mystery!

I miss the old days of good car mags. R&T, C&D, and eventually Automobile with a more upscale feel.

Thanks, for awhile vector and lambos were both based locally and they were building Vectors not far from my home. I have shared pictures in the past of where they were built and still a sore spot that I missed some of the molds and other bits that were in the dumpster (would not fit in the 911) but I was also fortunate enough to have done some work with both.
Ah yes, Hot Wheels, the start for many of us a certain age.

Finally a solution to all those lead footed SUV and Pickup trucks passing you at night with what must be their brights on beaming into your side view mirror.

Okay, what is that light really for?

Found it.

While much of the car pays subtle homage to the Nunes family history, the light mounted on the back is an open tribute to his Americo’s rally cars.

“It allowed him to have illumination at night so he could see if any maintenance was needed at the back of the car,” Andre explains. “It was quite common in the ’60s, and it seemed like a perfect bridge between every generation of our Nunes family.” All the lights on the car are now LEDs. “It makes a huge difference,” he adds. “You can actually see where you’re going at night, which is a novel experience for a decades-old Porsche.”

Yep, he showed up at the first Turtle Lake car show in West Bloomfield too (was actually the 2007 Italian Happening).

The gentle smell yet searing fumes of racing gas from the Vector fill our lungs, and we were loving it. I felt a little nervous the whole time almost shaking, like I was getting up the nerve to ask a girl out back in High School or about to have sex for the first time.

The head engineer of Vector who now travels the globe servicing these aircraft spec-grade automobiles invited us into his home. We watched promotional videos and went though his scrap book re-living the stories and memories of the thing we now call "Vector".

When you get that close to understanding what went into building such a car, and marvel at the hurdles they leaped over, there is an awe to it. Unless you have been part of something like that, or at least shared a little time with someone who has, perhaps some respect or a nod should be shown.

I really don't see what qualifies the critics to speak out as they do, where is the supercar they helped build?

EDIT: A couple of more pics

I like something with more curves and lighter myself, but have to respect the effort that went into making it.

I guess the latest in extreme performance is these large hexagonal tailpipes.

George is more fortunate than most of us, having the opportunity to talk to a engineer or a major car project is a privilege (having had the opportunity more than once, but my favorite was one who was a major part of the GMC Syclone and sadly, I didn’t take him seriously when he offered me the build materials and other things from the project:
