[QUOTE=nynor;5572223]does anyone else here think that pictures of dudes with their wee locomotives are silly? or perhaps i should just come out and say what i mean: these guys with their little trains are ridiculous. IMO, of course.

it's a pretty high-dollar hobby...my dad used to build live-steam locomotives and scale diesel-electrics. they were in 1" scale (meaning... the track steel is one inch wide.) The locomotives were about 6-7 feet long!

guys would pay BIG bucks to buy one of my dad's locomotives.

obligatory pic...

model railroading has always kind of been a rich guy's hobby...that just takes it to the extreme, haha.

No, he meant MG, as in Morris Garages. The car is a special one off, probably built for bonneville or le mans

But, yeah it might have some magnesium content too

My buddy's micro-car: 1959 Goggomobile Dart

I love the symmetry of this motor. (Isn't there some quote by the engineers that to work well it has to look good??)

Center Steer RSK - My favorite of the show

Ingress and egress is not so easy

What a beautiful motor

You can see how you can easily relocate the steering wheel

Wayne's World...

I missed seeing the 959, but this was definitely worth seeing (and hearing)!

There are so many heat exchanges on this thing - they're everywhere!

An interesting side note - the 962 seems substantially less complicated/sophisticated than the 959.
