That ship in the front is the Battleship USS 'IOWA' (61) from WWII.
The whole class was named after the Iowa. The most famous of the Iowa Class battleships is the USS Missouri (63 - 'Mighty Mo'), where the WWII Japanese armistice was signed. The Missouri was mothballed then reactivated and used again in the '90's during Desert Storm. It's a museum now. Last edited by tcar; 05-15-2011 at 07:14 PM.. |
