I had an awesome day today! I was working on someones house im a carpenter. Going out to my truck for lunch I look across the street and theres a ratty old race car out in the driveway with an old man hunched over it sanding away. I go to check it out and its a Cooper! Turns out its Penskes cooper "telar special" I look in the garage and theres Al Unsers Longhorn Indy Car with piles of junk on it and both their parts scattered around the garage! He said he raced it at one time but i forget his name we talked about so much stuff. So being an old timer and all he reeled me and my boss into pulling the engine for the cooper out of the basement it was a ford v8. Being that he was going to put it in front of a vw tranny i figured he didnt really know what he was doing. Especially since he was slapping bondo all over the aluminum body. Thats like sacrelage right? I dunno but im going to drive my porsche to show off to him and hopefully get to talk with him more. Very cool dude and cars. maby ill even get some pics. This is the cooper in its former glory
