R&T article said they will be sold as a Scion to boost their sagging sales.

I don't care who sells it I'm just happy to see automakers are putting out an entry level sports car.

What with the (once cheap) Mustang/Camero/Chalenger all running over $50K with a V8

As a past owner of three, 1968-72 Datsun 510 2-dr/4-sp., I can't wait for this Scion to hit the market. I've put my name on a waiting list at a Scion dealership (fully expecting them to try to gouge me...hah)

An obscure, sadly-forgotten little concept car by Giorgetto Giugiaro -- the 1966 De Tomaso Pampero.
Unwisely debuted at the same, 1966 Torino Auto Show as the spectacular De Tomaso Mangusta.
The Pampero might have been the roadster version of the Vallelunga.

It's fitted with the removable hardtop that came with all new Z8s. Looks better in "coupe" form in my opinion...

However,

Toyota now owns a chunk of Subaru; bought it from GM when GM went through 'restructuring'.

GM was not a good match for Subie... or SAAB... remember the SAABaru?

Wife would never go for that... but I will be keeping my eye open for one a few years down the road after depreciation.
