I don’t care what anyone says, that Panther looks awesome. From the body style and color to the intake and exhaust.
It’s the most unique one I’ve ever seen.
It’s definitely form over function but there are plenty the other way around and there’s room in the world for one like this one.

I'm pretty sure the LS engine firing order is the same as the Ford GT40 so they should have gone with the 180 headers/bundle of snakes on that Pantera

Details on 180 degree headers

987 is the closest thing to it.. and looks great from every angle as well
they lost it again with the 981.. which is a great car, but it's lines are to angular.. it's not round like the 904 or 987...

pretty sure an LS has a regular V8 cross plane crank 1-8-7-2-6-5-4-3
Where as a GT40 had a flat plane crank...that fires 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8

No. Both cross plane. Modern GT350 is flat plane.

I stand corrected, had looked at incorrect source.

GT40 had a flat plane crank??? The only flat plane crank Ford makes now is the new Voodoo V8 GT 350 Mustang-

I think the LS engine has the same firing order as the traditional Ford V8 engines-

But the Ford/Cosworth DFV had a flat plane crank. 1967, and it was of course for the F1 cars.
Ford eventually bought Cosworth in 1998-
There are quite a few DFV engines fitted to vintage Lolas these days, wonderful sound, many videos on youtube. Someone could put one on a GT40 and I'd love to see it

DFV had gear driven Dual overhead cams, 4 Valves, and of course flat plane crank.

Lola T280 and T292 with Ford/Cosworth DFV engines:

And in this clip you can see and hear a GT40 at the same time:

The mark II cars has FE motors, (427) and had a different firing order but the same bundle of snakes style exhaust should still work if I'm not mistaken.
