You cannot blame headlights for the '58 Chevy... they redesigned the entire car, not just the front end.

Actually the '58 Chevy was originally slated to be the '59 Chevy but the rushed it into production as Ford and Chrysler got the jump on them in '57.

The crazy looking Bat-mobile '59 Chevy was a rush job.
