I don't recall the Valkyrie being as fast or flying as high as the SR-71. What I do remember was the wingtip vortex that sucked in a chase plane, knocked off the tail and sent both planes down in flames.

Followed this guy all over to get a few good shots. The badge read 911S - anyone guess the year?

Just curious - how could you tell? Also, I thought there weren't any "S"'s in 68, no?

Here is s a picture of a picture from a traffic camera taken in a construction zone on the Autobahn. I wasn't going very fast.

David, I say 68 because that's what mine was and was also red. So what I know for sure is that is could be a '68. The soft rear window wasn't in production very long.

"Propulsion was by means of a propeller located at the rear, accelerating the railcar to 143.0 mph, setting the land speed record for a petrol powered rail vehicle. Only a single example was ever built, which due to safety concerns remained out of service and was finally dismantled in 1939"

“The Horten Ho 229 was a late-World War II Nazi German prototype fighter/bomber. It was the first pure flying wing powered by a jet engine and designed to be more difficult to detect with radar – the first aircraft to incorporate what is now known as stealth technology.”

“The Avro Canada VZ-9 Avrocar was a vertical take-off and landing aircraft developed as part of a secret U.S. military project carried out in the early years of the Cold War"

Looks like a converted Targa SC or Carrera.

OK I reviewed the OP's photos and my '68 did not have the flared fenders. They were perfectly flat. Also the '68 still had the short wheelbase. I can't tell from the pictures. Now the only thing that I know for sure is:

That sure reminds me of my '68!

It's a '69. Not a '68 because it's not an SWB. Push button door handles and soft rear window mean it can't be later than '69. Operable quarterlights means it's not a converted SC or Carrera 3.2
