That fiberglass 911 shell reminded me of a car I raced against in Mexico a bunch of times. It was originally owned by an old guy name Volker Bruckman and with a 3.3L engine in it and was all glass with some sort of tube frame and stamped aluminum floor pan and weighed way less than 2000#! It is currently owned by a VW/Porsche mechanic that lives in Tecate MX and as you can guess it was really fast!

I wonder if Volker is still working on cars & if his shop is still in Santee. He fixed the Webers on my '72 years ago after another well known shop couldn't identify the problem.

I think he let others run it now, his son Ike I believe? He raced a 930, raised slightly in the BAJA 500 back in the day before they made it longer and he was also a Can-Am/Trans-Am racer too. I used to get my synthetic oil from him back in the 90s.

[QUOTE=MT930;7162722]Theres one that comes in here alot, it's the sound that get your attention.
One guy bought many or the airframes and controls the parts. They are very expensive to operate.

Rear engine aircooled? Is this the porsche of the air? I just learned that the Velocity has a twin now, but I would guess the earlier shot wasn't it. I don't think the Long EZ ever came in a twin.

A '58 - '60 MB 300d Cabriolet is easily worth $80 - 100K in that condition, if it's as nice as it appears.
