Location: Placerville, CA.... You know, the only place on Highway 50 between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe the you find signal lights. Above the fog most of the time and I can see the stars of the Milky Way 8 out of 10 nights. Kinda cool.....

The first one I ever saw in person was at a small airshow/fly-in at our local county-owned public-use airport. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Hamilton%E2%80%93L.B._Owens_Airport

It was parked near a coupla WWII fighters and the difference in size (on the ground, anyway) was striking.

Not quite so evident in this pic, but you may be able to get a little perspective... and the Corsair is a little closer to the camera...

I was reading an article not long ago in Aviation Week & Space Technology and they were interviewing a guy who runs one of the Govt. contracting firms that provide support to the troops in Afghanistan. He was asked what kind of Close Air Support
aircraft would be useful to the guys in theater - he replied: "Something like a Skyraider".
