No one in this election represents me, nor do they represent the majority of the public. Again this election this will be "Voting for the best of the worst" as to tell the truth I cannot stomach any of the three selections, but I really do not want two of the three to become President, and the 3rd is just about as repulsive.

F- all this other stuff, just call it the angry MAN. As un-PC as it is to be a man in this country, there's still many of us about. When I say man, it encompasses everything described in the original post. Some may say that's too ambiguous, but I disagree. A man works hard, takes responsibility, takes care of his family, does what it takes to succeed, and doesn't ask for handouts. Those who don't may have a dick, but they aren't men.

I'm sure there's many that scoff at stuff like this, but the backlash is building. More and more people are becoming frustrated with the government, but nobody is stepping up to fix it. It's setting the stage for a gamechanging candidate, someone with the balls to step up and say "I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it any more". To tell the special interest groups to f-off and get a real job. Those who contribute the most to our society are being increasingly pushed aside, but these are the people with the power to push back.

I was thinking of the term "white" today while shoveling snow ... do you realize that even IF I fell butt naked in the powder you could still find me ... lolo ... like if you'd want to :P

Their respective reaches (pandering) to 'minority status' and self portraits as anything BUT a white male is indeed a sign of the times. Just how much longer can that race/woman-card be played, before everyone figures out that it's a division card. ?

My barefoot and pregnant comment was for the happy couple of Wayne and Dr. Laura, not Sam. I'm not holding Sam "guilty" of anything. I'm merely pointing out that white males have occupied a privileged place in the US society. You can argue about where we go from here, but this "I worked for everything I have, I just want a level playing field, etc" essentially ignore the reality of the last 200+ years.

Some people either don't realize that fact, or want to conveniently say, "ok, clean slate now" and ignore it. I don't think it's going to be that simple.

And to say that the white males "built" this country is insulting to every other ethnicity that has come to this country. Including those bum Irish.

Spot on Byron. In N.O. there was a thing called the West End Canal. It was built to connect the river & the lake during the time when the Irish were fleeing the potato famine. This thing was dug by hand & thousands died of yellow fever. Every now & then a construction project will uncover an unknown cemetery. Amazingly, no slaves died in the project. It was much cheaper to hire an starving Irishman for a nickel a week or whatever. If he died, throw him in a hole & get you a fresh one. Where was Al McSharpton?

We have morphing of cultures in the US. At least that has been the predominate goal of AWM since the civil war. --obviously, there have been some hold-outs, but they are the losers AND they are the same group that another group of losers point to in an effort to sell their Blame-Game.

But w/in that always changing culture a few guiding principles must remain strong. --caving to divisions isn't one of them.

I will concede one advantage that the AWM has in this culture; The AWM is never tempted by cultural excuses for his failures. He knows that everyone has hurtles in life. ...he knows that his hurtles belong to him. He doesn't expect the playing field to be re-landscaped to fit him and provide some perceived "unfairness" short-cut.

So todays white man must bear the burden of 200+ years of oppression that he had nothing to do with? I guess that makes as much sense to some as a middle class black man being given 40 acres and a mule. He earned them through the oppression of an unrelated slave right?

But I'm still waiting for the white privilege to kick into my life. As a white man that had to leave college three times in order work(all the loan money was sucked up by minority students) I'm wondering where my white privilege was then. As an older white man now being left to wither on the vine as younger,less experienced,less qualified minorities are being promoted in order to fill a PC quota, I'm still wondering where my white privilege is.

I came from a lower middle class family (government label for poor whites), and had to fight for the same things blacks did (education, jobs, housing. MONEY). I saw not only blacks, but every other race get given what they needed; all the while us "middle class" folks got nothing. Where was/is the United White College Fund, the NAAWP.
I have heard non-white mothers tell their daughters that "if you want those shoes you need to have more kids" (that’s no BS, visit a Wal-Mart and say "Thank you wellfare)
I overcame poorness, predigest (because I was poor) and lack of education (no grants for poor whites), to having a good life/Job and 2 Porsches. So can you.
Just give up the race cards (they are used up by now anyway) and get your a$$ to work. If this is too hard then go back to your motherlands were you are all the same (this goes for everyone not just blacks)
