Well, Cavaliers are not "designer dogs", but yes, we went over there to get him and have gone back over for dog shows (Crufts). Here's a pic of him smootching a stewardess somewhere over the Atlantic:

Not in 1st class as that was booked. If you plan far enough in advance, most airlines will allow up to 2 animals per cabin at no charge as long as they are small and in their carrier. The FUN part is going through a different security area in the bowels of Heathrow (by baggage ops) and then going through the customs/health inspection station when arriving at O'Hare. You'd better have all of the paperwork and needed records ready as it is a pretty involved process.
