I understand a little support (democracy for one group of like minded individuals) but why so unquestionable huge support for what ever they do....

Many people do not like to hear what is the probable answer...the huge Jewish lobby in the USA.

It's much like how most Americans think about the creation of Israel and our mindless support of Israel ever since 1948. I was actually one of those people for quite a while. Then in about 1970 after I had made some disparaging comment about the Palestinians, one of my Jewish friends (of all people) told me that I should stop reading the newspapers (people actually did that back then) and instead pay attention to what Israel was actually doing. He had just returned from Tel Aviv and was not at all happy about what his nation's policy had evolved into. That was one of the most eye opening conversations of my entire life.

Certainly not "smarter than anyone" but my travels to Bogota and Medellin did allow me to know that it is actually spelled as "Colombia" down there is SA.

However, I do also have friends in Columbia, SC.

The FARC is an internal Colombian problem and it should be handled by Colombia. We have poured over $5 BILLION of our tax dollars into various political pots in Colombia (we pretend that it's our "War on Drugs") and it has done mostly harm.

Can no one come to the obvious conclusion that we ought to try something different?
