You’re not familiar with "literary license”, are you?

Hey, I understand the "dress for success" thing (although it's just not me). Just don't try to convince me that ties are "cool". Bryan, you may be...but ties just aren't, but I must admit, if you gotta, ya gotta . I wouldn't mind having a "tie dye tie" for those special occasions, but for some reason, I've never seen one...

Rule 7: The place for a napkin? In your lap. It is not tucked into your pants, nor does it belong tucked into your shirt collar. However, if you are in a milieu where that kind of behavior is acceptable, don’t be afraid to go along. For example, diners from Southern Italy (or southern New Jersey) have long known that a bowl of spaghetti topped with marinara sauce can be better enjoyed when you don’t have to worry about the red stuff splattering on your shirt. Many Italian and Italian-American diners therefore tuck the napkin into their collars as a matter of course. Feel free to do the same. Live! Enjoy!

Went to the same place today--new twist. A guy with a suit didn't tuck the napkin in his collar, but he draped it across his chest, held up by his suit jacket. Ha.

OK, I'll concede Byron, you have some "kind of cool ties", but I still can't call a tie "cool"....Willie's "cool"...I like his tie better too!

ps: I probably don't want to know what a JG tie would set you back...and I can almost GUARANTEE that he never wore one unless it was a publicity shot

I've got a few of the JG ties. As I recall they were really no more expensive than anything else. Of course this was all before he passed.

I just wear a plastic bib.

Depending on where I am in the country, I too have to wear a suit and tie every once in a while. Like some have mentioned, I have some JG ties, and some normal ties. With that being said, my office is business casual Monday - Thursday, and casual on Friday (I have dockers, a long sleeve shirt and cowboy boots on right now).

No way in hell am I ever going to tuck a napkin into my shirt. When I do go italian, i just stay away from the potentially messy foods.

Byron, that's one ugly woman holding you there. The squeeze you posted on last time was much better. Stay with her, regardless of her taste in ties.
