Is there a difference between a "hippie" and a "field hippie"? I've run across the later term a few times in novels and I've always wanted to know if this is a sub-species or just a description of where they live...

We have plenty of Hippies complete with stenciled VW buses & dred locks they don't bother me much. Sometime you see the 55+ year old ones, that's got to suck. Friends from Indiana once asked where are all the stinking hippies come from? I have no idea, however I think they shop at Walmart.
