Sorry to disagree with all of you guys. I didn't like them when they were new (and my parents had a pop top back in the day), and I don't like them now. They do nothing for me. To me, they are old, slow, noisy mass-produced mini-vans. And the fact that some of you would even utter the 930 in the same sentence...oh the humanity!
Well when every window is opened up, including the split safari windshields, and the huge sliding rag top roof, and your heading to the coast for a surfing trip (I grew up in FL) with your buddies, you realize that it's a pretty special vehicle. In addition, mine had been lowered, was fitted with Fuchs, and was running an 1835CC engine built with many Gene Berg parts!!! Slow it wasn't! And yes, despite these mods, it was done very well....no hacks or hideousness.

A 930 and an old bus are miles a part, no doubt; I'm merely pointing out that they both move me...

My 10 year old son wants an old bus soooo badly. Especially a dual-cab. I thought about purchasing a "project" for us, but prices for those have even gone kinda crazy. Not to mention how expensive buses, in particular, are to restore. Additionally, I'm a mechanical type...body work is labor sent straight from Lucifer...

The verdict is in $39K.

Not bad for a vinyl interior, custom job. Still like it; but not for that price.
